I may be going to Saskatchewan again this August, it’s very up in the air, but with the uncertainty of the coronavirus I was thinking that a camper would be better than staying in hotels along the way. Really it’s just an excuse to look for camper vans and/or trucks and truck campers. (In the hypothetical scenario where this happens, the V70 and E28 are sold.)
Anyways, this caught my eye
Aall of the miles. I’m sure it’s not a great idea, but ever since riding in a manual, dually, Cummins-equipped Dodge, I’ve wanted one....
This has been unnecessary hypothetical truck shopping

it’s a terrible decision I would probably make.

I’m definitely thinking more about it than I should

Its a terrible decision I made once... 5/10, might recommend
I bought a rust bucket 01 4x4 Ram 2500 (so not a dually) with a Cummins and 6 speed. It was an awesome drivetrain, gave me basically no major problems, but the truck was a rusty POS and had was basically death by a thousand paper cuts.

I’m hoping the 1st gen is better put together than the 2nd, but by 647k, it might not even matter

I go to a lot of car shows and am generally pretty observant on the road... I think there are reasons you see far more old GMs and Fords on the road than Dodges. And none of them are good reasons.

Do it, great engines tons of parts

No A/C is a dealbreaker for me. Also including sheet metal for rust work makes me worry about just how much rust there is. I also hate bench seats but they could be swapped. I get your reasoning though.

One pic has a bed stack and the other one doesnt... also lots of black soot on the cab in one pic. I bet it smokes like a train especially with a fuel pin upgrade

I’m hoping the bed stack is the older photo, but yeah that soot doesn’t look great. It would need to be de-coal rollered
